Great news right?

The wing will officially transfer to Tampa April 27 of 2008 with 583 personnel making the move by summer. The wing flies KC-135 refueling tankers. No additional planes are making the move to MacDill, which is already home to the 6th Air Mobility Wing and 16 KC-135 aircraft. The 927th is an Air Force Reserve unit, which means that many of its personnel are part-timers with jobs in the homeowner community when they aren't called for duty.

The unit says it has about 153 full-time personnel, which includes 22 civilian employees. The 927th is moving to MacDill from the Selfridge Air National Guard Base about 30 miles northeast of Detroit Michigan.
